REXBURG, Idaho — Wealthramp, the trusted platform connecting individuals with rigorously vetted fee-only fiduciary financial advisors, has partnered with Brigham Young University–Idaho to offer a new mentorship opportunity for students studying personal finance and financial planning.
Each semester, two students will be selected to participate in the Wealthramp Mentorship Program, led by Pam Krueger, award-winning investor advocate and founder of Wealthramp. She is one of the leading voices on personal financial advice and has been the recipient of two Gracie Awards for educating the public about personal investing. In 2021, she received the NAPFA Special Achievement Award for her work educating individuals about the value of fee-only financial advice.
The mentorship program helps students bridge classroom learning with the realities of the profession. Participants will explore how fiduciary advisors operate, analyze real RIA firms and Form ADV filings, and learn to identify best practices that build trust and long-term client relationships. As the semester progresses, students apply these insights to define what kind of advisor they aspire to become and develop the professional skills needed to enter the field with clarity and confidence. Krueger also guides students to create actionable plans to secure internships.
“It’s a privilege to have Pam mentoring the next generation of professionals. This program provides an invaluable learning opportunity – one that I hope our students take advantage of,” said Professor Taft Dorman, PhD, AFC, Department of Finance, College of Business and Communication, Brigham Young University-Idaho.
Luke Andrus, a BYU-I Student Mentee added, “Working with Wealthramp opened my eyes to the real world of financial advising. Seeing how Pam vets exceptional fiduciary advisors gave me a tangible sense of how the best in the industry operate – something I never would’ve had access to otherwise.”
The BYU–Idaho Financial Planning program is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of financial planners by combining academic excellence with professional development. Through its coursework, the program qualifies students to sit for the CFP® exam and provides hands-on experience through real-world financial planning case studies. Students gain professional and networking opportunities, connect with firms seeking top-caliber talent, and engage in peer-to-peer financial mentoring to support fellow students on campus.
“My goal is to help students see past the job titles and understand what it truly means to serve clients as a fiduciary. Once they grasp that difference, they can shape their entire career around integrity and trust,” said Krueger. The next mentorship program will begin January 14, 2026. Interested students can apply starting January 7, 2026. For more information about the Wealthramp Mentorship Program and how to apply, contact Professor Dorman at dormanbr@byui.edu.
